The January virtue is thankfulness. The skit we performed was based off of the 10 Lepers Bible story. The ten lepers were sitting by the road and Jesus cured them.
Only one leper came back to thank Him. The song was Making Room For Grace. We are thankful for the grace God gives us. The song was a huge hit. All of the kids really enjoyed dancing and singing to the song.
After the skit was over, we asked the kids what they were thankful for. Some of the answers included family, pets, friends, food and shelter. It seemed like the kids really listened to the skit because we asked them about the skit afterwards and they seemed to really take it to heart.
In December and January, we have had “Stop, Pop, and Read” each Friday during which time students buy popcorn for 25¢ and the older students read to the younger ones. We would like to thank Napa Auto Parts of Kingsford for donating the popcorn, Mrs. Desiree Schneider for the popcorn bags, and many parents who have volunteered their time to pop it. It is delicious.
